Student Voices

First and foremost, FIT is the best place to study theology, not only because of the professors, who know how to communicate their ideas and provide space for new ideas but for the intercultural community as it is formed. There are students from all over the world and it is educating, interesting and certainly engaging finding the similarieties and the differences of different cultures within a loving community where everybody cares about everyone.
(Nikolaos, Greece)

FIT is a really unique place - highly relevant courses of study, engaged professors and small classes, situated in a beautiful campus and village - but its greatest asset is the extremely diverse and colourful community of students. We do not only learn about Intercultural Theology, we live it. And that is very valuable for both personal & later professional life while also a lot of fun!

"I am very interested to work in an international and intercultural environment and to help people who face challenges in physical and psychological aspects of their life. The B.A. Mission Studies and International Diakonia is the great choice for me because it gives me the required competences to work with people from different cultural backgrounds."

"I appreciate the fact that at the FIT we acquire a broad spectrum of knowledge and competencies in different related fields, as well as practical experience through short and long-term internships. This gives me the possibility to later specialize in the field I have come to like best."

"FIT is a decent place to study 'Intercultural Theology" with people who are from a different cultural background. One can easily realize what culture is all about. I like Hermannsburg very much, because it is a historical place and the birth place of several missionaries who have brought the Gospel to my country Ethiopia and other African countries too."

Tesfaye Denssa (M.A. Alumnus from Ethiopia)

"I chose to study here because of the great potential this institution has in the intercultural approach. What interests me the most is the open communication between the lecturers and the students. My aim is to continue with my Masters after completion of the BA."

George Andoh (B.A. Alumnus from Hannover, Germany)
